Obituary for Lillian Bernard

Peacefully, with the love of her family in her heart, Lillian Myrtle Bernard passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Huronview Home For The Aged in Clinton. In her 96 years among us, Lillian was a loving, nurturing presence within the circle of her family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband George. Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her children Lois DeWeese of Goderich, Les (Brenda) Bernard of Walton, Harvey (Pat) Bernard of Blyth, Marie (Robert) Johnston of Clinton and David (Nancy) Bernard of Clinton. Remembering a special grandma are 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Lillian will also be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Joan Bernard and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband George, Lillian is predeceased by her parents Bob and Verna (née Knox) McClure, 2 grandchildren, son-in-law Willy DeWeese, siblings Ruth Dale and Ross McClure, and George’s siblings.

Cremation is taking place. Family and friends will be received at Clinton United Church, 105 Ontario Street, Clinton, on Thursday, September 19, from 1 - 1:45 p.m. followed by a memorial service to celebrate Lillian’s life commencing at 2 p.m. Inurnment will take place in Clinton Cemetery and a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are entrusted to McGlynn Family Funeral Home (519-527-1390), 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth.
